Innovation Experience Lab – Workshop at GIZ

by Aug 11, 2016

This three-day workshop was hosted by GIZ (Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit). GIZ assists the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation. They offer demand-driven, tailor-made and effective services for sustainable development. The Institute for Integral Entrepreneurship delivered the workshop in collaboration with our friends at wildchild innovations.

A delegation of South African entrepreneurs, managers, activists, and government officials active in the realms of renewable energy, clean tech, and socio-systemic change were hosted in Germany in order to connect to their German counterparts, start to build stronger ties between the two countries, and immerse themselves in an experiential learning journey.

The workshop’s purpose: invite participants to connect beyond mere meet and greet sessions and get to know each other deeply by means of co-creating solutions to challenges in their respective fields. In addition, our goal was to make the concepts, methods, and perspective of Human-Centred Design, Business Design, and Integral Entrepreneurship accessible experientially and experimentally. Thirdly, our aim was to highlight the importance of both the individual’s personal connection to the chosen innovation challenge as well as the necessity for the team to develop a shared understanding of how the challenge relates to their context.
